Full Payment of Fees

ALL SDSU STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY THEIR TUITION PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR CLASSES.  PAYMENT OF FEES FOR REGISTRATION SHOULD BE MADE IN PERSON, ONLINE OR BY MAIL.  YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A BILL FOR YOUR REGISTRATION FEES/TUITION.

If you don’t have a financial aid fee deferment, you may pay your fees in person, online or by mail. 

Refer to your “My Registration Page” on WebPortal for your payment due date and fee coupon, for payment in person or mail. 

Payment Options

Present the fee coupon at the University Cashiers.  You may pay via personal/certified check, money order, cash and debit card.  No credit cards are accepted for tuition/registration payments.

No cash sent by mail will be accepted.

Click on Student Account Services from your WebPortal menu.   If you haven’t paid your fees and need to register, the fastest way to get cleared is by using our online fee payment services.

Installment Payment Plan

Tuition/fees due for the semester may be paid in installments.  There is a $60.00 nonrefundable service charge for the Installment Plan; the service charge is paid prior to registration, along with an initial payment of $800.  

The Installment Plan is essentially a loan, and it is important that you understand the terms of the contract.

Installment Plan Sign-up and Initial Payment

  1. Log-in: WebPortal
  2. Or, visit Student Account Services directly
  3. Choose "Student Account Services" from menu options
  4. Scroll down and choose installment plan for the correct semester
  5. Follow instructions and provide all the information requested

*Note: You will be paying the first payment online useing MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, or Electronic Check. Visa is not accepted for the Installment Plan application. Installment Plan applications are no longer accepted in person.

Online Payments

CASHNet™SmartPay allows students to pay their registration fees and out-of-state tuition online.  You may pay via electronic check, bank account, debit card and credit card. 

Access the system by visiting WebPortal at www.sdsu.edu/portal  and choose Student Account Services,

or 

Student  Account Services Web site at http://bfa.sdsu.edu/financial/student/  and see Online Services, to review your online student account.

Make sure that the required funds are available in your check or bank account.  Confirm that all information submitted and is correct and updated.  Any incorrect bank account or electronic check information will prompt “dishonored check” charges. 
There is a service charge of 2.9% for credit card payments
