Alyssa Angelina Valdez is a senior from El Centro, California. She is pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies with a focus in English and an emphasis in Linguistics. Her involvement in Associated Students (A.S.) began in 2017. Alyssa has served as:

Alyssa’s goal for this year is to further the collaboration between San Diego State University-San Diego campus and San Diego State University-Imperial Valley campus. As an advocate for mental health and wellbeing, her goal is to provide students at SDSU-Imperial Valley the necessary mental health resources to ensure and encourage that all students obtain academic and social success. Overall, Alyssa’s goal for the 2019-2020 academic year is to ensure that every voice at San Diego State University-Imperial Valley is heard and that each student has a successful college experience.

A.S. Vice President

 Sarah N. Macias is a senior from Imperial, California. She is pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies. Her involvement in Associated Students (A.S.) began in the 2018-2019 academic year as the Cultural Arts and Special Events Commissioner. Sarah has served as:

Sarah’s goals for 2019-2020 Academic Year as A.S. Vice President is to create a strong community for all students on campus. She would like to see student involvement in all of the events held on and off campus. She would also like for all students to feel that they have a voice on different school matters. All in all, she hopes that all students have a successful and fulfilling year!

John Moreno Jr. Treasurer

A.S. Treasurer

John Moreno Jr. is a Senior from El Centro, California. He is pursuing a degree in Psychology. His involvement in Associated Students (A.S.) began in May 2019, at his swearing in ceremony. John Moreno is currently serving as:

  • Psychology Club at Imperial Valley Campus

He has set the following goals for this academic year: Using his prior experience and training as an accountant, he will work closely with the A.S. Council and Bookkeeper to ensure that the funds acquired and allocated by the A.S. are used to greatly enhance the academic opportunities, and the social environment for the students on this campus. He will not only serve as the Treasurer, but will always be open and available to listen to the needs and ideas of the students here on the Imperial Valley Campus. John’s ultimate goal is to be an integral part of making this a most memorable year for all. On a more personal note, he is looking to fulfill the requirements for his degree in Psychology, while maintaining his presence on the Dean’s List. He will also help the Psychology Club, as Treasurer, to grow and have a larger presence on campus. He will assist in bringing Project Rebound to the Imperial Valley Campus. He plans to prepare for, and apply, to the MSW program being offered here at the Imperial Valley Campus, which will begin in the summer of 2020.

Daniela Garcia is a Credential Student from Calexico, California.  She is pursuing a Teaching Credential in Multiple Subject.  Her involvement in Associated Students (A.S.) began in the 2017-2018 Academic Year as the Education Commissioner.  Daniela has served as:

Daniela’s goals as Secretary for this year is to bring new and exciting ideas to the council to create more activities and events for SDSU-IV’s students. Daniela wants to maximize student involvement at SDSU-IV by having different events such as educational, sports, and stress-free to reach out to as many students as possible.  Another thing Daniela wants to do is help students be informed of all the resources that SDSU-IV campus offers as well as making students feel welcomed at their second home. Daniela wants students to feel safe, comfortable, and have them be able to express themselves to make SDSU-IV better for the years to come.
